Odds to Win the NFC North: Watch Out for the Monsters of the Midway

The NFC North has been among the most competitive divisions in the NFL over the years, and the race to be crowned the winner of the North in 2019 is gearing up to become another one that is fascinating.
The Chicago Bears will be the +160 favorites to reach the banner ads. The Green Bay Packers (+195), Minnesota Vikings (+240) and Detroit Lions (+1000) standing behind Mitchell Trubisky and business.
Here’s a breakdown of each team’s chances to win the NFC North at 2019:

Directed by a ferocious defense, the Bears once again lived up into the”Monsters of the Midway” moniker in 2018 and so were far and away the best team in the division with a 12-4 SU record. Unfortunately for the club of Matt Nagy that regular season won’t be remembered.
Rather, the missed 43-yard field-goal attempt in a playoff loss against the Philadelphia Eagles of Cody Parkey will remain as the standout moment in the Bears’ effort.
That unsatisfactory end proved to be a difficult pill but Chicago made some strides and is in a position to compete.
Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky appeared in 2018 just like the real deal and the system of Nagy yielded some results. With Khalil Mack place to terrorize opposing offenses, the Bears’ +160 cost feels warranted.
Last year was one but the good news for its faithful that are gold and green is that the team seems ready to flip the page. Trainer Mike McCarthy’s midseason firing proved to be a long time coming, and its new leader was found by Green Bay .
The Packers have missed the playoffs for two straight seasons — the first time that has happened since 2006 and 2005. However, if Aaron Rodgers can stay the club and healthy adapts to LaFleur, I do not anticipate the postseason drought of Green Bay to keep.
Tough the Bears will be difficult, but then a place is attainable when they can’t catch Chicago.
Expectations for Minnesota were increased last spring After Kirk Cousins signed up a $84-million contract with the Vikings. Those expectations were not met by the entire group, and Cousins’ year at the Gopher State went along with a playoff berth that was missed.
Cousins might need to figure out how to beat great teams if the Vikings are to make a playoff push in 2019. Minnesota travelled 1-6 SU from squads with winning records annually, also Cousins is now 5-25 SU in his career against winning teams.
The Vikes defense remains solid and Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen present arguably the greatest combo in the wide receiver position at the NFL, but that I can not place any stock until he starts winning matches. I believe their +240 price to acquire the North is a bet to me.
The Lions were the forgotten team in the NFC North in a horrible stretch from 2000 to 2010 that saw them miss the playoffs each year, and despite making the postseason three times in a five-day interval from 2011 to 2016, the Lions have once more found themselves because the”other” group in the branch over the last couple of seasons.
On the heels of an uninspiring 6-10 SU campaign, Lions general manager Bob Quinn was active in free agency, registering Trey Flowers, Jesse James, Justin Coleman, Rashaan Melvin, C.J. Anderson and Andrew Adams.
New rookie tight finish T.J. Hockenson will include a philosophical aspect to the crime, but I just don’t believe the Lions have the ability to make a run in the division. According to their +1000 number clearly BetOnline agrees.
