Nobody is surprised if I say there is a big difference between England and Spain, my country. One of them is the immigrants, like me. I came here to taste the experience of living abroad and to improve my english, but there are many people who travel abroad because they can’t live in their own countries for work reasons. All of these differences add up to make England a multicultural society, although these cultures are very different....

I arrived in Manchester about a year ago and I didn’t know anyone. I was just another Spaniard. I began to work in a hotel as housekeeper and received a text from Amir Shah. I have worked for four years in Spain, my native country, as tv cameraman, editing & different jobs in cinema. When I arrived here, my english was not enough to work in my profession, but Amir had patience with me (And he still has it). AKA Creative was my...

Bad taste in Man Good Taste in Shoes (BTMGTS) is a lifestyle brand for girls, by girls. Loving the single life, laughing at life experiences and providing gorgeous things for girls to smile about. The brand offers different products that can be purchased online, from fashion to bags and mugs. We were challenged with the redesign of their original website. Apart from being a selling outlet, the website had to convey a unique concept behind BTMGTS; girls loving single life and laughing about past experiences. The brand is not about man hating or against relationships, it is about enjoying life regardless of relationship status. After all if Price Charming does not turn up, there is always a pair of tall dark & awesome shoes. At the heart of the brand is  ”The One Who…” concept which collects experiences of dating. “The One Who wore speedos,”  ”The...

Thursday 31st May. Divine Trash and Savant attire crowded the studio. Manny Singh and AKA’s own Chad Hugo Stephenson, stepped in front of Amir Shah’s lenses to don the latest Tee’s and vests courtesy of Blah Blah Blah Clothing. The focus for me was making films, of the fashion kind! This was a new form of filming I hadn’t done before but researching the style of filming made the process much easier when wanting to glue it all together. Gustavo and I interviewed the two chaps. The questions were relaxed and the answers laid back, reflecting the clothes on their backs aswell as their attitudes. An element of the questions was to find the essence of our interviewees, whilst tailoring our cameras towards the new range of clothing.

Working on the Blah Blah Blah clothing website was probably the most time consuming project I worked on. The Blah Blah Blah clothing is based on two male orientated brands: Savant and Divine Trash. Both brands house cheeky t-shirts, sweaters and vests with tongue-in-cheek prints on, giving the brand an instantly recognisable twist. Given that this clothing website is probably the biggest task team AKA have had, we have successfully managed to...

Recently we have been very fortunate to work with Blah Blah Blah Clothing company. Brewed and bottled in 2010 and located in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Blah Blah Blah offer trend led menswear, supplying the biggest PLC’s to the smallest Drapers and award winning independents. We are great fans of their iconic menswear brands SAVANT and DIVINE TRASH so we jumped on to this opportunity.. Our task was to develop a brand new e-commerce website. Encompassing everything from creative concept, photography to web development. We knew that Blah Blah Blah’s approach to fashion is tongue in check fun and we knew their clothes are seriously cool, bang on trend fashion. Keeping that in mind the last thing we wanted to create is another bland e-commerce website. We felt that the Blah Blah Blah website should embody their personality as much as possible. Fortunately Blah...

After the success of Blah Blah Blah, we have decided to focus on creating parallax websites as a flagship feature of our web services. So Bad Taste In Men Good Taste In Shoes was a fantastic opportunity to do something more creative with the parallax effect. We have decided to use WordPress and MarketPress CMS/eCommerce solutions as a base for the website. After consultations with the client about the design and certain details of the design I have created a static HTML version with incorporated parallax elements and then we have built a WordPress theme on top of that. The purpose of a static HTML was to have a guideline of how to create the WordPress theme but also to discuss any major changes with the client and to show how the website would behave. The biggest challenge of this brief was optimizing the whole code to work fast and without any errors. I have learnt a lot about how...

During this project, I was the website developer. It was required to create a template for eCommerce platform from scratch and develop features for it later on. The challenge was to make a parallax effect on the home page and make it work across different platforms and browsers. First step was to create a home page HTML version for the client to see and feel how the website would behave and feel, after receiving feedback and making quick amends I have started working on developing shopping cart sections that would display for the customer who wants to buy and pay products. The project itself was a massive opportunity for me to test my skills and also learn something new. The biggest piece of knowledge I have gained was creating mechanics for the parallax effect, math and calculations for moving each element to create a perspective had to be very accurate and were depending on the size...
